[Watch] Pokemon Generations: Episode 3: The Challenger releases

They just don't make 'em like they used to. Pokemon rivals that is. Blue was the best, and it's not even close. Was he an ass? Sure. But he was better than you and each battle felt like you barely got by. Best of all, he gave you something to shoot for. You never wanted to be caught off guard when old Blue would come strolling up to you. That alone made Pokemon a better game.

This latest episode of Pokemon Generations is from the perspective of Blue, as he goes to challenge the Elite 4. Unsurprisingly, he's as cocky as ever, but he beats the quartet with no problem. Just like you knew he did all those years ago.

It's a shame that we haven't gotten a rival of Blue's caliber since then, and frankly, it doesn't look like Sun and Moon are going to change that.
