[Watch] Rise of the Tomb Raider gets Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, and PC comparison

Since the Xbox One X reveal, fans have wanted to see side by side comparisons for many games but we haven't really gotten that yet. People want to get an idea of the power the console holds but the only way to truly get a sense of that is by seeing the same game side by side with other versions. Luckily, Digital Foundry has us covered.

The console boasts a bunch of various improvements including better performance and 4K gaming but how much of a difference does it really make? Well, in the case of Rise of the Tomb Raider… it's a huge difference. Lara's hair is improved, making it look more realistic and there's better textures/detail in Lara's scars and injuries as well as her jacket. DF noted that they couldn't even replicate the Xbox One X facial injuries/dirt on the PC version of the game even though they were running on the game's highest settings.

Digital Foundry also noted that the game ran at a smooth 60 FPS when they recently went hands on with the Xbox One X version, this was achieved via the High Frame Rate mode in the options menu. The game will allow you to choose which improvements you want to prioritize in settings whether it be native 4K, better textures, or higher FPS. The PS4 Pro version sometimes dips and struggles to maintain a solid 60. DF did say that the mode's name indicates that it may not be locked at 60 FPS but it hopefully manages to get very close to it when it dips.

You can view the full comparison in the video below.

Xbox One X arrives on November 7th, 2017.
