CBS has released an new extended trailer for the upcoming series, 'Star Trek: Discovery'.
The production of the next big incarnation of the Trek mythos, 'Star Trek: Discovery', has seen some struggle from the beginning. Having already been delayed twice, some were wondering if the series would ever take off at the rate things were going. Recently, we got our first taste with a teaser trailer for the series, as well as some much needed reassurance when an official release date was set in stone for September 24th.
At the 'Star Trek: Discovery' San Diego Comic Con panel this year, the cast and crew met to answer some questions and provide some insight as to what the series has in store for fans who have been waiting for a new series since the end of 'Enterprise'. As they rounded out discussions, they eventually unveiled an extended trailer which showcases much more than we could've imagined. Check it out here:
The footage shows us more of the struggle between the Federation and its ever enraging conflict with the Klingon Empire. We primarily focus on Michael Burnham, played by 'The Walking Dead's Sonequa Martin-Green, but we still get to see more of this this new Enterprise crew, as well as a special appearance by Rainn Wilson as the dastardly villain from the Captain Kirk era, Harry Mudd.
The show stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Jason Isaacs, Doug Jones, Shazad Latif, Anthony Rapp, and Michelle Yeoh.
Star Trek: Discovery premieres on CBS September 24th, then continuing on the CBS All Access streaming app.
