[Watch] SoulCalibur VI’s Latest Sophitia Trailer Goes Back To Roots

Bandai Namco has released its first character-focused trailer for the upcoming SoulCalibur VI. The trailer featured none other than the series classic, Sophitia.

The video not only features her move set, but also a few words from producer Motohiro Okubo. He talks about the design of Sophitia and mentions that her and Mitsurgui were the first two characters developed for the new game. Subsequent characters were designed based on how those two play.

See the trailer below (and don’t forget to turn subtitles to English for a translation!)

The exciting part about SoulCalibur VI is that it finally returns to the 8-way running movement, as well as even revisiting the story of the original SoulCalibur from 1998. We’ll also see some new mechanics, such as the Reversal Edge that allows combatants to clash with each other and follow up with unique character attacks.

SoulCalibur VI is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in 2018.
