Star Wars Celebration has been packed some major reveals, namely the first trailers for Episode VIII: The Last Jedi and Battlefront 2. But also packed in there for fans devoted to the new expanded universe was the trailer for Star Wars Rebels Season 4, which as it turns out will be the show's final season. Here's the trailer.
The show's Executive Producer, Dave Filoni announced that Season 4 would be the end of the show before revealing the trailer. He said:
"It’s my decision, as the creator of this show with Simon [Kinberg], that Season Four is the final season of Star Wars Rebels.
I know, I know. But I firmly believe that each generation needs to have their own piece of Star Wars, and I feel that this show for a lot of kids growing up with it, is very much as much a part of Star Wars as any of the movies, and I really appreciate that love for you guys. And I feel creatively that I can make this story about these characters the most meaningful it can be by arcing it to where I can get to the end with this season."
Star Wars Rebels picked up, in many ways where The Clone Wars TV Show left off, continuing Disney's commitment to making a legitimately crafted animated experience in the Star Wars universe. If you watched The Clone Wars TV Show, you know that things…didn't quite end as well as they could have after it was rushed to its conclusion. At least this way, Rebels can go out on its own terms and continue to lay down the groundwork for future Star Wars stories.
Star Wars Rebels: Season 4 will air on Disney XD this Fall.
