[Watch] Styx: Shards of Darkness shows off the ‘Art of Stealth’ in new trailer

Goblins and elves can never get along it seems. This is especially true in Styx: Shards of Darkness as the assassin goblin looks to take down as many elven militants as possible to get what he wants, Quartz. While this trailer does not show off how the game plays moment to moment, it does give us a sense as to what kind of abilities we can tap into. Styx can utilize throwing daggers, set traps, use his big knife for instant kills, and even drop a giant chandelier on unsuspecting enemies.

The potion you see Styx drinking is known as Amber which grants him some temporary abilities. These skills include Amber Vision (think detective mode from the Arkham games), short-lived invisibility, as well as the ability to clone himself. Shards of Darkness also introduces crafting mechanics which will let players create tools and gadgets to distract, incapacitate, and kill enemies.

Styx: Shards of Darkness releases later this year for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Pre-orders are now live on Steam and doing so will give you 10% off the purchase priceĀ and exclusive access to the Akenash set containing the outfit and dagger from the original game.
