Alien is at its best as a survival horror where it's just one xenomorph hunting you on a ship. And that's exactly what Alien: Isolation is all about. Developer Creative Assembly put out a new dev diary today that takes a look at the very retro future of the game that they describe as lo-fi sci-fi. Like being ripped right out of Ridley Scott's design, Alien: Isolation is chunky, features push buttons, is very analogue, and CRT instead of LCD.

Discover the true meaning of fear in Alien: Isolation, a survival horror set in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger. Fifteen years after the events of Alien™, Ellen Ripley's daughter, Amanda enters a desperate battle for survival, on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother's disappearance.
As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien.
Underpowered and underprepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive.
Alien: Isolation will be released on October 7 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
