The intriguing trailer that Sony showed off yesterday as part of its press briefing at E3 in Los Angeles is a tech demo dubbed The Dark Sorcerer.
Developer Quantic Dream — the maker of the upcoming PlayStation 3 title Beyond: Two Souls and 2010's successful Heavy Rain interactive drama — is responsible for the video, which demonstrates the technical power of the PlayStation 4.
Sony and Quantic subtitled the demo "a next-gen comedy" — all the drama you see at the beginning is just an illusion. The footage ran in real time, but it's currently only a concept, not from a game currently in development.
