Watch the first 4 minutes of The Walking Dead Season 6 mid-season premiere

Just days ahead of the debut of The Walking Dead's Season 6 mid-season premiere, AMC has released a clip offering an early look at the opening minutes of the episode.

If these first four minutes are anything to go by, it's going to be an intense second half. The premiere episode looks to open on Daryl (Norman Reedus), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz), picking up from the post-midseason finale teaser clip. The three find themselves at the mercy of the Saviors, and before we go into detail, check out the clip below.

Pretty intense, right? Without spoiling too much, the Saviors are an authoritative that subjugates nearby communities and essentially forces them to pay tribute in exchange for protection against zombies. Perhaps more importantly, they are led by Negan who is considered by many to be the most evil of all The Walking Dead's villains. I won't spoil what Negan is known for in the comics, but let's just say when he and "Lucille" get together, things get crazy.

The Walking Dead returns this Sunday, February 14th.
