[Watch] The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Nintendo Switch vs. Wii U side by side comparison

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was originally announced as a Wii U exclusive many years ago. After a handful of delays, many expected the game just wouldn't release on Wii U and would later come to the NX which is now known as the Nintendo Switch. Turns out we are going to get the best of both worlds, it'll release on both platforms but many are wondering how it will run on the Wii U?

Every demo for the game prior to January 2017 was running on Wii U but some wondered if it was just a vertical slice that was made to look impressive after all this has been done before by other gaming companies. Luckily, we don't have to be too concerned as the game runs beautifully on both consoles (with a few technical hiccups), of course, the Switch version looks slightly better but for the most part, the differences are fairly minor!

You can view two videos showing the graphics, loading times, and frame rate on both consoles.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been killing it in reviews earning over 30+ perfect 10/10 scores. We gave it a 9.5/10 and praised it for its ability to change so much of the Zelda formula while staying true to what makes the series so good.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild releases March 3rd for Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
