[Watch] The Surge Gets A Combat Trailer Full of Brutal Action

Developer Deck13 today released a new trailer for their new game The Surge. This trailer focuses on the game's combat, which many may note the semblance to games like Dark Souls.

The Surge is an Action RPG with mecha and exo-suits. The trailer shows combat, which features vertical and horizon attacks with the ability to target certain limbs. By dismembering robot arms, you can steal and equip them instead of destroying them. This forces a more tactical approach to combat instead of a blades-a-swinging type approach.

According to Deck13, these rules of combat apply to both the player and the enemy, meaning if they hit your unarmored limb, you'll go down quicker. So keeping those exposed parts defended is crucial.

The Surge is set to release on May 16 on PS4 Xbox One and PC at $59.99.
