TimeSplitters is a classic FPS series about a group of agents traveling through time. The first game released in 2000, while the third and latest entry dropped in 2005. Over 10 years later, Cinder Interactive Arts has released a teaser trailer for a new entry to the series: TimeSplitters: Rewind.
TimeSplitters: Rewind will be a standalone multiplayer game actually being developed by fans of the originals. It will feature maps, characters, and weapons from the first three games.
It's also planned to support up to 16 players and is currently planned for 2017 (Though that trailer fooled us for a second.) They haven't revealed what platforms the game would release on, but the originals were on the big three of their time (Xbox, PS2, Gamecube).
Rewind will not be re-using assets from the old games, even though they have access to them. Instead, they're using them as concept art to build their own work and so it will hold up to today's standards.
