[Watch] Tom Cruise shows brutal set footage of his Mission: Impossible 6 injury

Tom Cruise is an absolute madman. We all know this, he’s proven it time and time again. From when he went on Oprah and jumped on her couch in excitement over his upcoming marriage to when he hung off the side of a plane that was taking off for Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, he has proven it yet again for Mission: Impossible 6!

In 2017, the major star known for performing his own stunts injured himself pretty badly when doing a relatively tame stunt when compared to his previous work. On the set of Mission: Impossible 6, Cruise was chasing down Henry Cavill’s character across rooftops and when jumping between two buildings, the actor was meant to nearly miss the landing and have to catch the ledge, pulling himself up and continuing to run after Cavill. The actor did exactly that but… he messed up his foot pretty badly.

As he jumped across, he stretches his leg out toward the building, planting his foot on the wall and brutally breaking his ankle. The actor pulled through and continued the stunt by pulling himself up and limping toward the camera as planned. The cast of the film showed a clip of the disgusting injury from three different angles on The Graham Norton show, you can watch it down below. Beware, this is not for the skittish.

Mission: Impossible 6 caused a lot of chaos in Hollywood by injuring Cruise and postponing production and also giving Warner Brothers a hard time with the production of Justice League. Henry Cavill who also plays Superman had grown a very substantial mustache for MI6, when it came time to do reshoots for Justice League, WB. had to work around Cavill’s stache. Rumors suggest that Paramount was not willing to allow Cavill to shave and just give him a fake mustache so WB. had to use CG to carefully remove Superman’s facial hair. It ended up being incredibly noticeable and fans poked fun at the movie which was already being critically slammed.

Mission: Impossible 6, which has officially been titled Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
