[Watch] Total War: Warhammer 2 gets an epic cinematic announcement trailer

Branching out to the world if Warhammer was a great success for Creative Assembly and the Total War franchise, which is why the second installment was announced today, taking the fight to the New World!

That's right, Total War: Warhammer II takes the boat across The Great Ocean to four new continents, Lustria, New World, Naggaroth, and Ulthuan. Warhammer Scholars can already tell what races that means for Warhammer II, the new game will bring the High Elves, the Dark Elves, the Lizardmen, and a fourth unannounced race, as the trailer hints this fourth race will be the ratmen Skaven.

The Steam page details the story for Total War: Warhammer II, which is a bit different than how it was in the first game where everyone just fought for world domination and to keep the forces of Chaos at bay:

"Millennia ago, besieged by a Chaos invasion, a conclave of High Elf mages forged a vast, arcane vortex. Its purpose was to draw the Winds of Magic from the world as a sinkhole drains an ocean, and blast the Daemonic hordes back to the Realm of Chaos. Now the Great Vortex falters, and the world again stands at the brink of ruin.

Powerful forces move to heal the maelstrom and avert catastrophe. Yet others seek to harness its terrible energies for their own bitter purpose. The race is on, and the very fate of the world will lie in the hands of the victor."

Total War: Warhammer II comes with eight legendary lords for the four races, new playstyles and stories, new unit types and more features players should expect from a sequel, a sequel to the most successful Total War game ever to be released, nonetheless.

Then there is the pièces de résistance, owners of both Total War: Warhammer I and II, you need to own both games, will shortly after launch be able to a colossal grand campaign map, merging the maps of both games together into one giant mega map

While many enjoy this announcement for more Total War: Warhammer there are still some worries that Creative Assemble are making these games too rapidly considering the last game only came out a year ago.

Total War: Warhammer II is set for a 2017 release but has no set release date as of yet. While waiting for the game to come out, why not read our review of the first one?
