[Watch] TV show host accidentally spoils Star Wars: The Last Jedi on live TV in interview

DO NOT READ THIS ARTICLE IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI UNLESS YOU DON’T CARE ABOUT SPOILERS. THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS A MASSIVE SPOILER FOR THE MOVIE THAT YOU WILL PROBABLY PREFER NOT KNOWING BEFORE SEEING THE FILM.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is arguably the biggest movie of 2017, it’s already crushing it at the box office and has scored critical acclaim despite some fans being less than pleased with the film. The movie contains a lot of secrets and major reveals, some of which literally caused audible gaps at my theater.

One of the coolest moments in the film is when a certain old green friend comes to Luke Skywalker in a time of need. Yes, we’re referring to Yoda, the wise Jedi master who died over 30 years ago in the movie’s timeline. He lives on as a ghost and for the first time since the end of Return of the Jedi, he visits Luke as he is going to go destroy ancient Jedi text.

Luke expects Yoda to talk him out of it but Yoda actually encourages him and goes as far as striking lighting down on the tree that holds the Jedi books. It’s later revealed that Rey actually stole the books before she left Luke’s island and has them on the Millenium Falcon so Yoda probably did it just to mess with Luke. Regardless, it’s a big moment in the film and caused many people to cheer. One TV host didn’t get the memo that this was a major secret in the movie and spoiled it on live TV when interviewing actor John Boyega.

Just days before the film officially released, Holly Willoughby was interviewing Boyega and she casually dropped the fact that Yoda was in the film. Boyega reacted promptly by slightly freaking out and telling her that she can’t say those things. We genuinely feel bad for those who were watching the interview on TV just to see John Boyega talk about the highly anticipated movie but ended up having a cool moment ruined for them. You can watch the awkward and hilarious moment down below.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is out now.
