[Watch] Warner Bros. announces Lego DC Super-Villains; Coming this October

TT Games has been making LEGO for as long as we can remember both in the form of original LEGO games and ones based off of highly popular IPs. The studio has touched on Star Wars, Marvel, and even DC Comics, giving them lots of great playgrounds to play in and now, they’re making one of their most unrestrictive playgrounds yet.

This October, Warner Bros. and TT Games will release LEGO DC Super-Villains, a game that puts evil and mischief at the forefront instead of heroism and caped crusaders. While the game’s existence leaked earlier this year, we didn’t really know what the game would be like. Now that the game is officially announced, you will be creating your own unique supervillain and teaming up with some of the most iconic baddies in history like Joker, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Lex Luthor, Darkseid, and more to cause chaos.

“LEGO DC Super-Villains provides players a fun and humorous way to cause mischief by unleashing their DC Super-Villain’s sinister powers and amusing abilities,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games. “With an unprecedented amount of customization options to choose from, players can create and customize their character at the start of the story, unlocking new powers and abilities as they progress through the funniest LEGO game to date.”

In the past, you’d typically be playing as one of the many legendary characters created by DC Comics writers throughout the years but in LEGO DC Super-Villains, you’re making the next great evildoer in the absence of the Justice League who have mysteriously disappeared. With no protectors of Earth around, a group of heroes from a parallel universe who call themselves the “Justice Syndicate” fill their place.

When the Legion of Doom begins to sense something wrong with the Justice League wannabees, they take it upon themselves to foil their plan and prove who the REAL bad guys are. You’ll assume command of the group as your custom character and lead the charge against the false heroes in an expansive open world!

You can view the first trailer above, we’ll likely see first gameplay and get more details in a couple weeks at E3. LEGO DC Super-Villains will release on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC on October 16th, 2018.
