For the first time in 20 years, HBO reserved a trailer spot during the Super Bowl. The first trailer for the second season of HBO’s Westworld was officially been released and includes the show’s premiere date! The trailer dropped as a Super Bowl LII ad and it shows off plenty of teases at what is to come in the upcoming season.
Season one of Westworld was ripe with multiple timelines, death, rebellion, and puzzles. The first trailer for season two appears to pick up exactly where the first season left us, in turmoil. In the trailer, which features a cover of Kanye West’s Runaway, we see Evan Rachel Wood as Dolores Abernathy, Jeffrey Wright as Bernard Lowe, and Thandie Newton as Maeve Millay, as well as a look at a creepy unfinished host.
Oddly enough, the footage in the trailer above might not be what we actually see in the second season. The Super Bowl LII ad might feature some misdirection, according to Entertainment Weekly. Some of the footage in the trailer is exclusive to the trailer and will not be in the upcoming season.
Westworld Season 2 is set to air on April 22nd, 20, 8 at 9pm on HBO.
