[Watch] Zelda: Breath of the Wild Switch Docked vs TV Mode Comparison

How different are the two modes? Find out here.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has launched with the Nintendo Switch today. Everyone who knows what Nintendo is may already be aware that the Nintendo Switch can be played in both portable and TV modes, and that these two modes are technically different resolutions. Well Digital Foundry, well known for comparison videos, has released a comparison video for the docked and portable modes of Breath of the Wild.

The interesting difference is how the portable mode actually performs better in terms of framerates, even though the performances for both are relatively strong. The Digital Foundry guys have actually termed the portable mode as the "preferred mode" for performance.

The only negative of the portable mode is the lower quality of anti-aliasing with more jagged edges. The framerates are typically resting at 30 FPS on both, with occasional, small dips in docked mode.

They also mentioned a future video comparing the Switch version to the Wii U version, which GameZone will also report on when it releases.
