Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced Injustice: Gods Among Us for 2013.
The one-on-one, superhero fighting game is set in the DC Universe and seems to be a more advanced version of the Midway-developed Mortal Kombat vs. DCU — without the Mortal Kombat, of course, but more along the lines of the 2011 MK game's style.
Injustice: Gods Among Us features destructive, interactive environments and improvised weapons. Different moves depend heavily on characters and their unique abilities.
The game will contain a roster with numbers similar to those of Mortal Kombat — so at least 28. WBIE has already confirmed Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Solomon Grundy, Harley Quinn, and Flash.
Creative director Ed Boon is colloborating with comic book writers Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti on the title.
