Getting to Mordor was a treacherous journey for everyone included, it wasn't just a journey that followed two Hobbit-bros up a mountain with their little decrepit pet Smeagol. There were actually four hobbits, one elf, one dwarf, and three humans, which means one thing — someone had to have packed enough lembas bread for the journey.
The question is, how many loaves of lembas would they need on their 92-day journey to Mordor (because Gandalf wouldn't let his bird friends fly Frodo out there all by his lonesome)? Scientists have done the math, they would have needed 675 loaves of lembas.
Scientists calculated that Hobbits require about 1,800 calories a day, while elves can survive on 1,400 — who knows how they did that, as these humanoids don't exist, but we'll just go with it. The study ruled out any deaths, pretending they didn't happen and added up the total number of calories the crew would need on their mega-hike. It turned out to be a whopping 1,780,214.59 calories. Then, the caloric load of each lembas loaf was calculated, yeah, they calculated the calories in magical elven bread that was meant to keep you full.
How did they do that? Magic. Scientist magic.
So yeah, that's how many magical loaves of bread The Fellowship needed to consume to get into Mordor. Meanwhile, there are architects attempting to build Minas Tirith IRL.
