We Happy Few officially releases into Early Access and brings with it a new Gameplay trailer

We Happy Few is among my most anticipated games as it screams BioShock meets Survival Adventure. In the town of Wellington Wells, citizens are required to conform to certain behavioral standards and that comes with taking a literal happy pill called Joy. The game is all about a group of people trying to escape Wellington Wells or perish in a world of blissful denial.

In order to do that, players must reconstruct their character's past by blending in with the denizens of Wellington Wells by keeping Joy in their system. Fortunately, Joy is everywhere as people hand it out like candy and as if that weren't enough, the water supply is tainted full of it as well.

We Happy Few is currently in an Early Access state, meaning that only the game's basic features are present. You will be able to get out and explore the town while trying out the game's unique social conformity, Joy intake, and suspicion mechanics. The game also comes with traditional first person combat, survival, and crafting mechanics, not unlike H1Z1 or ARK: Survival Evolved.

Developer Compulsion Games will be adding features and expanding the size of the city as the Early Access timeline goes along and it should be noted that the game's current build carries very little in the way of narrative at this time. So that spectacular E3 2016 showing is about all you can expect in terms of story here.
