Weekly Round-up (4/19-4/25/15): This week’s biggest gaming news all in one place

Sure, tonight's reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will dominate the news cycle for at least the next 24 hours, but let's not ignore all the big headlines from this past week. With summer and E3 approaching, there was tons of news surrounding some of this year's biggest games and movies. Check out the top headlines for the week of April 19 to April 25, 2015.

Heroes of the Storm gets a release date

Blizzard’s new MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) has been in beta testing for quite a while now. We found out this week when the game will officially be released in full. Of course, as a MOBA it’ll constantly be evolving so I use the term “full” release loosely.

New Fantastic Four trailer electrifies us with Dr. Doom and super powers

A new trailer for Fantastic Four finally shows off each character’s super powers in action, as well as our first look at the film’s villain, Dr. Doom.

Jurassic World gets a brand new trailer

Following a controversial exclusive clip, Universal Pictures released a brand-new, action-packed trailer for the upcoming film, Jurassic World.

A new Full House spin-off is on the way

Rumors of a Full House spin-off, titled Fuller House, were confirmed by Uncle Jesse himself. Actor John Stamos, have mercy, confirmed a one-hour special will air in 2016, followed by a 12-episode spin off show on Netflix.

Bungie introduces us to Destiny’s new expansion, House of Wolves

A livestream this week gave us more info on Destiny’s new social space, The Reef, coming with the House of Wolves expansion. They didn’t stop there, though. THey also gave us information on Xur, their stance on player trading, and a look at a more simplified trading system.

Our first look at Mad Max gameplay

Avalanche Studios blew our minds with our first look at Mad Max’s gameplay. The studio provided us with a lengthy overview of the game’s systems.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 gets a live-action trailer

The worldwide reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will take place tonight, but that didn’t stop the developer from teasing it via a live-action trailer that eerily resembled Deus Ex.

Square Enix announces its own E3 press conference

Filling Nintendo’s old slot, Square Enix will host its own press conference at E3 on June 16 at 9:00am PST. We don’t know what they’ll show, but some potential games include Final Fantasy XV, Bravely Second, Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and possibly even some more details on Kingdom Hearts III.

Marvel announces partnership with Telltale Games

Get ready for a new adventure game set in the Marvel universe. The two companies announced a partnership that will see a new game series premiere in 2017.
