It looks like Persona 5 Strikers is inbound for release outside of Japan. An announcement trailer leaked today even has all the details about platforms and dates. P5 Strikers supposedly will launch for PlayStation 4/5, Nintendo Switch, and PC on February 23rd, 2021. Atlus is actively taking down re-uploads of the leaked trailer but this backup is still working (thanks Gematsu!).
Persona 5 Strikers originally launched for PS4 and Switch earlier this year. But the action-heavy spin-off sadly only came out in Japan. Due to it having only Japanese text, it was pretty much impossible to play for everyone outside the country.
Thankfully, it looks like fans won’t have to wait much longer to finally play it. The leaked trailer for the western version states that Persona 5 Strikers will launch next February. The timing of the leak also has us thinking that the announcement was probably planned for the upcoming The Game Awards 2020.
Even if the surprise effect for the official reveal is pretty much gone now, it’s still great to finally get confirmation. Even better, while the Japanese version only came to the PS4 and Switch in Japan, the Western launch extends to the PC, too.
Yes, you’ve heard it right. Persona 5 Strikers will launch on PC via Steam. Not only that but the same day as the console versions. There’s a good chance that the stellar reception of Persona 4 Golden on Steam led to Atlus’ newfound love for the PC platform.
Obviously, with two Persona games now on Steam, PC gamers are expecting the big news. Persona 5 Royal. Chances of it happening are higher than ever before. And we hope to get confirmation rather sooner than later. Who knows? Maybe Atlus is planning a doubly-whammy with the announcements of Persona 5 Strikers and Persona 5 Royal. Either way, make sure to tune in to The Game Awards 2020 on December 10th.
