If you're as confused as the rest of us watching Westworld on HBO, then you'll be happy to know that we'll have even more time to figure out what's going on as it has just been renewed for a second season.
Programming President Casey Bloys at HBO commented on the extension by saying
“I am thrilled to announce the pickup of our three fall series, all of which have distinctive, original voices,” said Bloys. “Critics and viewers alike have welcomed Westworld andInsecure, as well as the return of Sarah Jessica Parker to the network after 12 years withDivorce.”
According to the announcement, the show averages around 11.7 million viewers each week, which beats out Game of Thrones and True Detective in their first seasons. We still don't know what the heck is going on in Westworld as it is now, let alone how the current first season will end? Will the hosts escape the maze? What is the maze? Will the guests actually get hurt? So many unanswered questions in Westworld, and in typical J.J. Abrams fashion (ala Lost), I'm sure the show will end with only about 20% of the questions answered.
