What are Nintendo’s mysterious Missions?

With the closing of Club Nintendo last year, Nintendo has planned to release a new feature beginning this Spring. Registration for this feature called Nintendo Account began today, and now we also see a new feature that Nintendo will be announcing soon.

The developer has been tight lipped so far on both Nintendo and NX with very little information revealed so far. Well, thanks to Dualshockers, we now see that Nintendo is planning on some sort of Mission system, only we have no clue what they are. The info was spotted in the account deletion page of the new Nintendo Account. After registering, when you go to cancel your account you receive the typical warning page. On the page, it says you will lose access to some features including "Mission status, points and rewards in the My Nintendo reward system".

Dualshockers speculates that it could be something similar to Xbox Live rewards, but I propose a different hypothesis. With both Sony and Microsoft having their own trophies and achievements, I'm betting that "Missions" are going to be the Nintendo version. Of course, we have no clue until Nintendo elaborates this Spring. There is no exact date yet, but My Nintendo is set to launch in March, so hopefully we hear more about it and NX then as well.

We'll let you know more as we hear.

Thanks Dualshockers
