What if the rumored Mass Effect 3 ‘The Truth’ DLC changes the ending?

If rumors are true, fans may get their wish for a new or, rather, "better" Mass Effect 3 ending.  BioWare has received a ton of praise for Mass Effect 3, but when it comes to the ending, many fans feel they may have dropped the ball.  I'm not going to spoil exactly what happens, but let's just say fans feel incomplete with it.

Since the game's release, BioWare hasn't said much about the ongoing controversy over the end of Mass Effect 3.  The closest we've seen is a interview from Digital Trends in which director and executive producer Casey Hudson said the goal of the "polarizing" ending was to get people talking about the game and it's ending.  I'd say mission successful, as the ending has been one of the most hotly debated topic among gamers who have gone so far as to raise $40,000 in charity in a petition for BioWare to change the ending.

In terms of actually changing the ending, Hudson didn't rule it out, but didn't mention any plans.  However, a recently leaked screenshot of upcoming Mass Effect 3 DLC, thought to be multiplayer-focused only, may have uncovered BioWare's plans to release continued ending of the game.

The original graphic seemed to only indicate it was a mutiplayer DLC, but Polish site CD-Action has posted what it is claiming to be the full version of the graphic with an anonymous user adding additional commentary on the image that not only attempts to clarify the ending, but also attempts to uncover BioWare's DLC strategy.

Here are his comments (via):

***Warning Potential Spoilers***

The ending was half-assed because of the leak. They changed it at the last minute so they could have more time to prepare the real ending via DLC.

It’s called The Truth and it’s being released in April or May. You WILL be able to continue the story if you picked any of the endings. Your decision during that sequence will have a big effect on your ending of The Truth. The Truth adds two new sets of enemies, new classes, and multiplayer maps including “Firebase Hive”, which is a small area of the last remaining collector ship included in the DLC, which, by the way you should definitely bring Javik the Prothean along if you have him.

The picture here shows some of the leaked multiplayer classes and races. One race that isn’t shown is the Prothean Adept and Vanguard. This DLC also enables the ability for owners of the preorder and From Ashes DLC to find their DLC weapons in reinforcement packs.

All that content, and this might as well be labeled an expansion pack.

And it’s free.

You’re welcome.

Wow.  That's a pretty big pill to swallow.  I won't lie; this seems a little far-fetched.  But as unbelievable as this may be, a tiny part of me is hoping it's true and that BioWare may fix the ending, or at least give Mass Effect 3 and the fanbase the ending we deserve.

The claim here that it was rushed because of the leak could warrant some truth, but I have a hard time believing BioWare would succumb to leaks and rush an ending.

Unfortunately, this likely a troll having fun with disgruntled fans, but…what if…?
