So yesterday, Disney Interactive announced that Star Wars: Assault Team had entered "limited early access." Okay, cool… but what the heck is it?
According to the brief blog post, Disney's Brian Nelson describes it as a "turn-based combat game for mobile devices with strategy and card-based elements." Apparently, you'll collect characters from the Star Wars universe and use them to battle in strategic missions set throughout the various planets and locations from the original trilogy.
Wait, so no Naboo or Jar Jar Binks-like characters? I'm in.
Star Wars: Assault Team is expected to rollout globally this spring for iOS, Android, and Windows 8 devices. It's currently in"limited early testing" in select international markets.
