Xseed announced its plans to release two Ys action-role-playing games — one for Steam and one for the PlayStation Vita.
Ys 1 & 2 Chronicles+, an enhanced version of the compilation available for PSP, has now popped up on Steam with a release date of February 14.
Publisher Xseed is calling it "the most modernized and up-to-date remake." The buttonless "bump" combat now supports the analog stick for players using a gamepad. And the soundtrack can be set to the "original 80s FM-synth, an early 2000s MIDI-style remix, or a modern studio performance by [developer] Falcom’s in-house rock band."
The game also features four difficulty levels, an optional boss rush mode, a greater viewing area, "adjustable high-resolution PC graphics with a smooth, consistent framerate," Steam Achievements and Cloud support/leaderboards, and some extras.
Prepurchase the Ys 1 & 2 Chronicles+ (regular $14.99), and you can save 15 percent.
