What’s downloadable this week, Nintendo? 10/25/2012

Wow! We've got a lot of content on the download front for Nintendo this week. This time, games are coming at us from every angle, landing on the Wii, 3DS, and DSi. A few are new and potentially awesome, while others are older titles that were pretty tough back in the day.

We've got a lone title on the Virtual console this week and no no WiiWare games. The NeoGeo game Shock Troopers is available for 900 Wii Points and features isometric shmup gameplay.

On the 3DS eShop front are a handful of downloads, the first being Liberation Maiden from Grasshopper Manufacture and Level-5. For $7.99 you can take on the role of the mech-controlling president of New Japan and gun down bad guys. There's also NightSky, an indie puzzler that first appeared on PC and sports beautiful visuals, available for $9.99.

If you're looking for something to suit your retro hunger, maybe the NES classic Ghosts 'n Goblins on the eShop will satiate your appetite. The game, which is known for being ridiculously tough, is priced at $4.99. There's also the Game Boy original Castlevania: The Adventure, which received mixed reviews, downloadable for $3.99.

That's not all we're getting on the eShop, though. The Gold Mushroom Pack and Coin Challenge Pack B are now available for New Super Mario Bros. 2, and they sport price tags of $2.50 each. The awesomely impressive Mutant Mudds is getting 20 Grannie levels absolutely free of charge to match the content of the PC version that was released a while back. Last on the eShop is a free demo for Marvel Pinball 3D.

What's that lonely-looking figure off in the distance? That's this week's DSiWare download, 18th Gate. You can play this RPG title for 500 DSi Points ($4.99 on the eShop) and keep it company.
