What to expect from Destiny’s November update today

***Update***

Destiny's November update has arrived. Check out the full patch notes here.

***Original***

Later today, Bungie will release the eagerly awaited November update for Destiny. The update brings a number of improvements, mostly to the Crucible, including adjustments to bounties and the questline to unlock Lord Shaxx's weekly PvP bounties.

On the subject of PvP, the update should contain a fix for Crucible rewards. As previously detailed by Bungie, there's been a "nasty bug" affecting Crucible rewards, including Iron Banner. That should hopefully be fixed today.

Additionally, the update will bring some changes to Destiny's Daily Crucible Bounties. While we'll have to wait for the patch notes for specifics, the changes aim to to address bounties that are "too hard to complete, demand too much carnage at once, or put too much requirement on othe rplayers."

On that same note, the questline to unlock Lord Shaxx's weekly Crucible bounties, which reward players with Nightfall-tier gear, is also being simplified. For those who have already completed it, you understand how long, repetitive, and incredibly frustrating it can be. Bungie is admits, "In hindsight, it felt really freakin’ long (like, glacially long), the rewards weren’t good enough for the effort, and only awarding progress on winning in certain steps led to frustration and quitting." Though we don't know the exact changes, Bungie says "completing matches will give you progress in most cases, and we'll be giving you more freedom to choose how you complete it."

Other changes and improvements in today's update include Banshee-44 (Gunsmith) now seeling Weapon Parts in exchange for Glimmer, as well as the ability to purchase all three Legendary swords directly from Lord Shaxx (after you complete the "Blademaster" quest).

And lastly, Bungie last week touched ona new initiative to spread some holiday joy this season. It's brilliantly called "Refer-a-Friend" and although Bungie is putting the finishing touches on it (with details coming very soon), the developer promises rewards for those who help out new Kinderguardians. I'm not entirely sure if Refer-a-Friendw ill be included in today's update or if that's coming with the December update that will also address Guardian and weapon balancing.

As always, we'll let you know when the update goes live along with the patch notes.
