Whispering Willows comes to Kickstarter with Ouya and PC support

Most games that appear on Kickstarter aren't already in development, let alone have demos that you can try. Whispering Willows is one such game.

David Logan of indie studio Night Light Interactive — who's worked on web series "Swampy's Underground Adventures" (based on Disney mobile game Where's My Water?) and TV show Community — is overseeing the Kickstarter campaign, which looks to raise $15,000 in crowdfunding.

Whispering Willows already has a web-based demo you can try. It should give you an idea of what the horror-puzzle game, which is well into development, will be like when it comes to Ouya, PC, Mac, and Linux (and later Android and iOS). The demo requires a Unity3D browser plug-in to play.

The game — where players assume the role of Elena, who searches for her missing father while using her supernatural powers to help ghosts and solve puzzles in the Willows Mansion — will release whether or not the Kickstarter is successful. The extra money will enable Night Light Interactive to invest more time so that it can launch the title sooner and add more polish.

The funds will also go toward paying the team members and especially additional artists who can contribute more often than those working full-time jobs apart from the game.

The campaign for Whispering Willows ends on March 15.
