So Microsoft today announced that over 3 million Xbox One consoles were sold in 2013. In doing so, the platform holder also gave Xbox One owners a quick glimpse of what awaits them in 2014: Titanfall, Watch Dogs, Project Spark, Sunset Overdrive, The Division, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Destiny, "and more." Something missing from the list of notable mentions? Oh yea, the new Halo.
Now I suppose you could lump the new Halo in with the "and more", but it seems odd that Microsoft would omit its name from the list of upcoming titles. I mean, Halo is a staple Xbox franchise. And while it's plausible that the game might not release in 2014, Halo PR manager Rob Semsey has a much different reason for its absence from the list.
"Xbox Wire today mentioned a few 2014 titles; Halo on Xbox One not listed due to official name of the next title not announced yet," he said.
Does this mean the new Halo will actually release in 2014 for Xbox One? Microsoft hasn't announced anything yet, but Semsey followed up with the following teaser: "Rest assured your next Halo journey WILL begin in 2014. #staycalm."
