Peter Molyneux of Lionhead Studios told Official Xbox Magazine (OXM) that Fable III will not have the online auction house, a feature that was originally planned for the game.
Lionhead had planned to give the game an auction area over Xbox LIVE to allow for weapon trading. Players weapons would change according to use and Gamerscore, creating customized weapons for each player. They could then jump online and trade and auction off their weapons over LIVE.
Unfortunately, “The burden of running this online auction server became a burdgen too many,” Molyneux told OXM. While the weapon evolving will still be there, players will be limited to trading only with those on their friends list, as they did in Fable II.
