Wii Mini bundled with Mario Kart Wii races to North America this month

The Wii Mini, which you can see in its red-colored glory right here –>, is coming to the U.S. this month, announced Nintendo of America.

Currently only available in Canada and Europe, the Wii Mini will launch by the middle of November and  cost $99. With it comes a Wii Remote Plus, nunchuk and a copy of Mario Kart Wii, but here's what it can't do: connect to the internet, play GameCube games, no SD card slot and only has one USB port — all of which keep the cost down.

The thing I'm having a hard time understanding is who this console is intended for. You can buy a plain ol' white Nintendo Wii console for $70 at GameStop — and that will play GameCube games AND go on the internet. Why would I play more for less? Why does Nintendo keep making that backward moves that confuse their consumers by adding another Wii console to the market when they're having a hard enough time selling the Wii U?

C'mon man!
