Wii U Deluxe Set adds New Super Mario Bros. U in place of Nintendo Land

Perhaps in an attempt to sell more systems, Nintendo has switched up its Wii U Deluxe Set. In place of Nintendo Land, the bundle will now include two games — New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U. Not only are you getting two games for the same retail price of $299, but you're also getting two arguably better games. If anything, they at least star some of Nintendo's more iconic characters: Mario and Luigi.

"Mario and Luigi are two of the biggest heroes in video games," said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "This new Wii U configuration gives people instant access to not one, but two of the most well-received Wii U games. It's another example of the tremendous value and variety that Nintendo is offering consumers this holiday season."

New Super Mario Bros. U is easily one of the more popular games on Wii U, scoring an 8.5/10 here on GameZone. Recently, Nintendo slashed the price of the game to $29.99.

Nintendo Land can still be purchased separately in stores or digitally through the Nintendo eShop for $29.99, beginning November 1st.
