As a peace-offering/apology to Wii U owners that are still upset about Rayman Legends both getting delayed and not being a Wii U-exclusive, adopters of the console will be getting the Rayman Legends Challenges app this week. The Rayman Legends Challenges app will release on the Wii U eShop this Thursday, April 25, and will be free.
Even though the game will be launching in September alongside the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, the challenge mode will stand on its own and launch digitally. It offers four levels that are available for one to five players. Challenges will be altered regularly in daily and weekly increments.
It definitely doesn't make up for having the game be delay and brought to other consoles, but at least it's something. Rayman Legends was one of the few reasons I bought a Wii U console at launch. Unless Wii U owners get something extra in the game that other consoles don't, this will continue to sting for Wii U owners.
