Wii U sales jump 200 percent

Sales of the Wii U increased by 200 percent from August to September, according to Nintendo.

That huge boost was likely a result of the price cut on the Wii U Deluxe Set, which now costs $300 (the same as the Basic Set). Nintendo also introduced a limited edition bundle packaged with The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD for $300.

The 3DS hit the top of the hardware sales chart for the fifth month in a row. Nintendo launched the 2DS just last week.
