The Wii U sold 308,570 units in Japan in just two days. So how does that compare to the U.S. and U.K.?
Famitsu's report figures includes the day of launch, December 8, and the day after in Japan, according to Siliconera. Sales show that 55 percent of people bought New Super Mario Bros. U with 170,563 copies sold. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate placed second with 110,159 copies and a 36 percent attach rate.
Nintendo Land ranked third with 78,461 copies sold and a 25 percent attach rate — and it's worth noting that Nintendo Land is not bundled with the Wii U in Japan like it is in North America and Europe. Deluxe edition owners received a beta invite for Dragon Quest X instead.
Japan's total calculated Wii U sales so far almost exceed the U.S.'s 400,000, which it reached in a greater span of time: one week, not two days.
In the U.K. the Wii U sold 40,000 units in its first two days of availability, perhaps partially due to supply shortages.
