Nintendo has released Wii U system update 4.0.3. While patch notes are limited, Nintendo has revealed that the update offers "further improvements to overall system stability" as well as other minor adjustments that will 'enhance the user experience."
In January, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata briefly touched on a "Quick Start Menu" function that will arrive with an update in the summer. The future update will supposedly halve hte time it takes a user to turn on the console and start a game. It currently takes Wii U owners over 20 seconds before being able to select a game to play, which Nintendo admits "is not an ideal situation for users."
Based on a brief concept video shown, it appears users will be able to enter the Quick Start menu and select a game without having to first go to the main console's menu.
