The first wave of Nintendo's new line of amiibo interactive figurines isn't set to release until November 21, but the company is looking to get things ready ahead of time.
As to avoid launch-day chaos, a new Wii U system update, version 5.3.0, has been released. It preps the console for figurine support, adding amiibo Settings to the System Settings. The amiibo settings will allow users to register an amiibo owner and nickname, delete data written to an amiibo by supported software, and/or reset an amiibo.
The update also includes "further improvements to overall system stability" and other minor adjustments that will "enhance the user experience."
