Will Ferrell to star as professional eSports player in upcoming film

Will Ferrell is going to be the star eSports player in an upcoming film by Funny or Die's Michael Kvamme.

As announced by Gamespot, the film is being backed by Legendary, with Kvamme writing the script along with Jordan Dunn from WaitListComedy. With the script still not complete yet, no director or release date have been provided either. There are set to be cameos from professional eSports teams such as Evil Geniuses, but none other are confirmed although there are certain to be more.

This may be Ferrell's funniest role since Ricky Bobby, and the possibilities are endless. He is also taking part in an event for cancer, as you can see in the video above. In typical Ferrell fashion, the Xbox One controller isn't even turned on. His gamertag of "tight shorts", however, is hilarious.

We'll update you with more as we hear it.
