In what would make for a sensational return chapter for wrestling fans around the world, 2K Sports are reportedly considering Kurt Angle as the face of WWE 2K18's promotional content.
Any deal between Kurt Angle and 2K Sports could mean a return to WWE TV for the former world heavyweight champion, and judging by his recent interview with Title Match Wresting, he is already scouting out the opponents he would like to lock horns with.
"I wanted to wrestle Daniel Bryan, but unfortunately I don't think he's able to go anymore. But I'd say, right now, on that roster, Seth Rollins is the guy. I watch how he is, what he does, his style, his ability in the ring. Right now he's one of the best in the world," Angle said.
This year, WWE signed Goldberg to a deal that allowed him to travel the world, meeting and greeting WWE fans, before eventually making his return to the ring in the main event of this year's Survivor Series pay-per-view – where the wrestler decided Brock Lesnar was 'next' as he beat the 'Beast Incarnate' in under two minutes.
Angle has remained very active in wrestling since his WWE departure in 2006, working with TNA Impact Wrestling and on other independent shows – which stands him in good stead for a potential last match with WWE, unless the cpmpany has concerns with the long-term issues Angle has suffered with his neck.
Nevertheless, until things are officially agreed, we will have to take these rumours with a pinch of salt.
So, who would you like to see Kurt Angle wrestle if he returns?
