Willem Dafoe to voice Ryuk in live-action Death Note movie

While Willem Dafoe gets down to business filming Justice League: Part 1, it appears as though he has secured himself a place in the upcoming Western live-action Death Note adaption. Who will Dafoe be playing in the film?

According to a report from Mashable, Dafoe will be none other than Ryuk the Shinigami. Dafoe won't actually be in the film, but his voice will be. Much like the Japanese live-action adaptation, it appears as though Ryuk will be CGI.

The live-action film is set to debut on Netflix and will be based on the Japanese manga and anime series. It has been reported that the film will star Nat Wolff, from Paper Towns and Margaret Qualley.

If you're unfamiliar with the series, it follows a story of a student who finds a supernatural notebook that kills anyone whose name is written in it. Once the student begins killing, the series opens up into a cat and mouse game between the student and detectives trying to find him.
