Windows 10 will be free for Raspberry Pi 2 makers

The Raspberry Pi Foundation officially revealed the successor to the Raspberry Pi, the Raspberry Pi 2. The successor takes the Raspberry Pi Model B (featuring a Broadcom BCM2835 @ 700hz) and blows it out of the water. The Raspberry Pi 2 features a A 900MHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU, 1GB LPDDR2 SDRAM, and complete compatibility with Raspberry Pi 1.

Microsoft might have stolen some of the Raspberry Pi 2's thunder with their own announcement for the mini computer — Microsoft will be supporting the Raspberry Pi 2 with Windows 10.

While it is unclear what version of Windows 10 will be available to Raspberry Pi 2 owners (as Microsoft stated it will be "a version of Windows 10 that supports Raspberry Pi 2"), it has been confirmed that the operating system will be available free of charge to makers. Windows 10 will be coming to the Raspberry Pi 2  through the Windows Developer Program for IoT.

The Raspberry Pi 2 is available for $35, so you could have your own Windows 10 running mini-pc for only $35.
