Wipeout to get PlayStation VR mode in 2018

One of PlayStation's longest running franchise is the futuristic racer, Wipeout. The arcade racer has had a great history with the platform and it made a comeback just recently on PlayStation 4. To keep the excitement alive, Sony will be releasing a PSVR mode for Wipeout in 2018.

The mode looks incredible and really exciting, giving you a visceral look at what it's like to be in the driver's seat of those "cars". This isn't Sony's first take on a racer in VR, earlier this year we got Gran Turismo Sport and it did a pretty decent job of giving you the feeling of racing down the track and taking tight turns. Wipeout will take that to the next level with huge jumps, intense action, and much more. You can check out a trailer below.

It was made to sound like this is an update to the existing game but it's not clear if a standalone version will be made available.

Wipeout VR has no specific date yet.
