Witcher games get free Steam weekend and major price drops

The Witcher 1 and 2 are completely free to play this weekend on Steam. Good luck trying to get through them.

But because you won't be beating these massive role-playing games by Monday (though nobody will fault you for trying), Steam has also dropped their prices by 80 percent. The Witcher: Enhanced Edition only costs $2, and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition is only $4. Those discounts will last until Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Both of these promos are good ways for developer CD Projekt RED to scrounge up some new fans before the next game debuts. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is due to launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One later this year.
