With Irrational shuttering, BioShock for PS Vita left in limbo

With Irrational Games shutting down, the proposed BioShock game for PlayStation Vita may never happen after all.

2K Games told CVG that it has "no update" on the game's status, which was announced in 2011 and still hadn't entered the development phase two years later, in 2013. Back then, creative director Ken Levine said he hadn't given up on the project.

BioShock for Vita would have been a brand new, original title, but Irrational hit some roadblocks business-wise in seeing that it could happen.

It's possible that 2K, which now has full control of the BioShock universe, will pursue the idea or outsource it to another developer, but the game is stuck in limbo for the time being.
