With their powers combined the Xbox 360 and Xbox One form the Xbook Duo

How do you feel about the Xbox One's inability to play Xbox 360 games? Backwards compatibility is a big thing for some gamers, so much so that one crafty gamer found a work-around for it.

The work-around comes in the form of an Xbox Laptop that has both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One system installed in it — dubbed the Xbook Duo.

This combo of a system isn't for sale (yet), Edward Zarick (EDSJunk) simply wanted a proof of concept; he wanted to know that he could create this beast and have it work too. How does it work? The left side of the system is the 360 part, while the right is the One. The systems both share one power supply, but only one of them pulls power in at a time – meaning: Only one of the two are switched on at any given time (either the 360 or the One).

You can choose to use either the Xbox 360 or Xbox One by shutting the power down and flipping the switch in the middle. The screen is a 22" Vizio 1080p LED LCD monitor, but you have the option of plugging the Xbook Duo into a TV. So far, the Duo doesn't have any cooling issue, but the catch is that you have switch between the 360 and One controller when switching over.

If the Xbook Duo isn't your thing, there's a Playbook 4 out there too.
