Today, Bethesda revealed the required and recommended hardware specifications for the PC version of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. There was also specifics revealed on graphical options, including a field of view (FOV) slider, ultrawide monitor support, and an uncapped framerate.
Check it out:
Bethesda took note of additional requirements, like Steam and a broadband internet connection for activation and installation when compiling these specs, so it shouldn't be an issue for those skirting the line on one of the above requirements. They've also noted that new AMD GPU drivers for Windows 8.1 will not work, but that's not a concern for most Wolfenstein fans on PC.
As mentioned earlier, the graphics settings menu for the PC build will have plenty of customization. Three colorblind modes (protanopia, deuteranopia, and tritanopia), an FOV slider that ranges from 70 to 120, and support of ultrawide 219 aspect ratio. Of course, it also supports the standard 16:9, 16:10, and 4:3. It comes with four anti-aliasing options: TAA, FXAA, SMAA, and TSSAA. There are also more subtle adjustments in the advanced options:
The game was built with the Vulkan graphics API, which Bethesda specifically said the AMD RX Vega was specifically optimized for. It was also announced today that the game will not feature multiplayer, as it would be "Diluted" by such a mode. Bethesda is also quite proud of its anti-Nazi message in Wolfenstein, with their VP stating that it's "disturbing" that Wolfenstein II can be considered a "controversial political statement."
