Wolfenstein 3D returns to PSN and XBLA, ahead of The New Order

I know Wolfenstein: The New Order has been announced, but before it's release in Q4 2013, Bethesda is giving fans a chance to experience Wolfenstein 3D. The iconic first-person shooter from id Software returns to Xbox 360 and PS3.

Originally released for DOS in 1992, Wolfenstein 3D was inspired by the 1980s Muse Software games Castle Wolfenstein and Beyond Castle Wolfenstein. The game puts you in the role of spy agent B.J. Blazkowicz — who incidentally returns as the hero in The New Order — as you escape from Castle Wolfenstein and defeat the twisted Nazi regime, including Hans Grosse and Mecha-Hitler.

The game is currently available on Xbox LIVE and the North American PlayStation store, with a PSN Europe release "coming soon." Wolfenstein 3D can be purchased for just 400 Microsoft Points ($4.99).
